The Queens County Farm Museum is free and is the only farm that is fully open to the public year round. The Snug Harbor Heritage Farm is also free and can be seen year round as part of Snug Harbor, but can only be entered and interacted with during specific times during the growing season. Gericke Farm is part of the state park system, which is free and open year round, but you cannot enter the growing field or farm buildings.

The other farms are available for visits on specific days during the growing season. Some are only available for pre-arranged school trips. Several farms accept volunteers. Always check ahead before heading out.
