Farmers’ markets and CSAs are the best way to get locally grown, fresh food from the farm to your table.
All farmers’ markets, known as “Greenmarkets” in New York City, are run by GrowNYC. GrownNYC also runs the City’s Food Stands and Fresh Food Box programs.
CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) are independent operations in which customers pre-pay for seasonal shares of a farm’s produce. Those shares are delivered on a regularly scheduled basis to a site in the customer’s neighborhood.
